LAKE SMERALDO

(distance 5 km - 10 minutes by car)

Lake Smeraldo is located in Fondo, in Alta Val di Non. It has a small bathing beach and it is possible to walk along the path that surrounds the lake dug into the rock and equipped with comfortable walkways and illuminated even at night. There are other comfortable walks that start from the lake: the “Doss of Sedruna” (20 minutes), the “Madonna Brusada” (20 minutes) or the Botanical Garden where you can admire a fantastic panorama from above (20 minutes).

CANYON RIO SASS

(distance 4 km - 7 minutes by car)

The Rio Sass Canyon in the municipality of Fondo is a unique and unforgettable experience. A breathtaking path equipped with suspended walkways and stairways, thanks to which it is possible to cross this gorge of rock and enjoy the magical play of light and the evocative sounds of the water that runs through it. Accompanied by expert guides, the Canyon is covered in about two hours of walking.

LAKE TRET

(distance 10 km - 15 minutes by car)

The lake of Santa Maria (or Lake Tret, m 1610) is an artificial lake located near the village of Tret (fraction of Fondo). The lake can be reached by car as far as the Scoiattolo hut, at "Le Plaze di Tret". Then you must continue on foot along the path n. 512; with a difference in height of 350 m and in about an hour you reach the lake. Near the lake there is a refuge and a mountain hut.

SAN ROMEDIO

(distance 10 km - 15 minutes by car)

The Sanctuary of San Romedio stands on a spur of rock formed by five small churches joined by a long staircase and is one of the most characteristic hermitages in Europe. You can reach the Sanctuary along a route carved into the rock that starts from the Rhaetian Museum of Sanzeno. The walk immersed in nature is for everyone, even for children, families and the elderly. In winter the walk is closed and reopens in spring. Admission is free.

COREDO AND TAVON LAKES

(distance 16 km - 20 minutes by car)

The two lakes of Coredo and the lake of Tavon (883 m) are artificial basins divided by a dam built in 1958 where it is possible to practice sport fishing, without the need for a license but paying a permit (daily or seasonal). The Due Laghi area, also called Località Palù, has a large green park with a playground for children, a beach volleyball court, a fitness trail and a picnic area.

TOVEL LAKE

(distance 29 km - 40 minutes by car)

The lake of Tovel (m.1178) presents incredible green and blue reflections. From Tuenno you can reach the Adamello Brenta Nature Park by car and the lake taking the provincial road n. 14 of the Val di Tovel, but during the summer it is possible to reach the lake with the shuttle bus service starting from Cles, from Tuenno or from the parking area in "Capriolo".

PASS DEL MENDOLA

(distance 8 km - 12 minutes by car)

The Mendola Pass (1363 m) is an important tourist center located at the base of Mount Roen (m 2116) and Mount Penegal (1737 m). Immersed in the green of the fir forests, it enjoys a spectacular view, both towards the eastern Dolomites and towards the peaks of the Brenta Group, reachable by the steepest funicular in Europe.

MONTE ROEN

(distance 12 km - 35 minutes by car)

Monte Roen can be reached by following the signs for Passo Mendola near the ski resort going up with the chair lift. Another way is to pass the village of Amblar and then reach the beautiful Malga di Romeno. From the hut, a path leads to the summit where you can admire a breathtaking landscape that falls on the Val D'Adige.

MONTE PENEGAL

(12 km - 30 minutes by car)

Arrived at the foot of Mount Penegal, passing through the Mendola Pass, with the funicular you reach the path that reaches the peak (3 hours, 385 m in altitude). From the summit you can admire fantastic views: the Brenta Dolomites to the southwest, the Ortles-Cevedale Group to the west, the spectacular Dolomites to the east and the Val d'Adige.

MADDALENE

(14 km - 25 minutes by car)

Among the mountain chain of the Maddalene there are paths suitable for everyone, the altitude is not very high and allows you to reach the peaks in the day and admire lakes and typical alpine pastures. In summer they are the ideal place for trekking and Nordic walking, while in winter you can go on snowshoeing or ski mountaineering.

A splendid and easy walk is the ring of the Maddalene mountain huts, a mostly flat trail. Along the way you will meet various huts, all very hospitable and with excellent cuisine: the hut of Lauregno, the Castrin hut, the Cloz hut and that of Revò.
